How to Remove Rust on a 66 Mustang
The 66 Mustang is a classic car. Because of its age, rust is very likely. But most car enthusiasts take care of a classic car, removing any rust as soon as it appears. But if you do buy a used 66 Mustang that has not been maintenanced, it is still possible to get rid of the rust.
Instructions
- 1
Scrub away all rust with a scrubbing pad or steel wool pad.
2Put on work gloves before handing the acidic rust remover. Place a large amount of rust remover onto a steel wool pad and then rub the remover into the rust on the Mustang.
3Allow the rust remover to dissolve the rust for 10 to 15 minutes.
4Wipe off the rust with a rag or paper towels.
5Paint automotive primer onto the rusted areas using a paint brush. The primer is rust-proof and protects the Mustang from rust formation. Allow primer to dry.
6Repaint the rusted areas with touch-up paint if necessary. Let the paint dry.
