How do I Remove Stripped Tuner Lug Nuts

How do I Remove Stripped Tuner Lug Nuts?

Tuner lug nuts, made by Gorilla Automotive Products, are designed to fit in the tiny lug holes typically found on tuner-style wheels. These lug nuts act like locking nuts as well, and help to prevent theft. If you lose the key to remove the lug nuts, you wont be able to remove the lugs. Alternatively, if the lugs are stripped, you will have the same problem. To fix the issue, youll have to use a creative approach, which will destroy the lug but allow you to take off the wheel.

Instructions

    1

Locate the stripped lug nut that you want to remove. Select a socket that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the lug nut. Hold this socket against the lug nut as straightly as possible.

    2

Strike the end of the socket with the 5-lb. sledgehammer until the socket is all the way on the lug nut.

    3

Attach the 1/2-inch breaker bar onto the socket, and turn it counter-clockwise until the lug nut is off of the wheel.
