How to Clear the Codes in a Mazda MPV
You can clear the trouble codes on your Mazda MPV right from your home garage, saving yourself a trip to the mechanic or dealership. Mazda MPVs manufactured between 1989 and 1995 come equipped with an On-Board Diagnostics I computer (OBD I) and those manufactured from 1996 to the present have an OBD II computer. In either case, the procedure is the same, you just need a different tool to do the job. You must obtain a small, computerized OBD I or OBD II scanner. Clear the trouble codes after the vehicle has been serviced or repaired. Clearing the computer codes shuts off the warning and service lights on the instrument panel.

Find the data link connector (DLC) port underneath the steering column. Its positioned a bit to the left of the steering column in some later model MPVs.
2Plug the OBD I or II scanner into the DLC.
3Put the key into the ignition and turn it two clicks forward to the "ACC" position. Follow the instructions on the scanner. Most scanners have an "Erase" or "Delete" command. Select this command and wait for the scanner to indicate that it has completed the task.
4Unplug the scanner and turn on the engine. Check to make sure the warning and service lights are not illuminated on the instrument panel.

How to Check Engine Codes for the Mazda B2200
The 1992 Mazda B2200 came equipped with a "Power Control Module" that helps control and diagnoses the functions of the engine and other vital parts of the vehicle. Each vehicle, regardless of make and model, come equipped with a system that assigns a code to each issue and stores it in the "tester" box. With the right tools and knowing how to interpret the codes, check engine codes of your Mazda B2200 without having to take it to a repair shop.

Warm up the engine for one to two minutes before shutting it off. This will cause any problems with the Mazda to show up during the diagnostic reading.
2Pop open the hood and locate the "Tester" box, which is a 2-by-2-inch box on the driver side of the engine.
3Find the connections labeled "STI and "SIG RTN." Securely connect a 3-inch metal wire, with a plastic protective covering, from the SIG RTN to the STI slot. Wiggle the wire to ensure the wire will not become loose during the test.
4Turn the ignition on, but do not start the engine. Watch for the blinking "Check Engine" light. With a paper and writing utensil, write down the pattern of short and long intervals between flashes of light. The intervals corresponds with codes in a repair manual. Check your local library, repair shop or online database for a list of engine codes.

How to Replace the Electric Fuel Pump in a 1989 Mazda B2200
The Mazda B-Series is a line of pickup trucks manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation from 1961 to 2006. The number in the series indicates the engine displacement, so the Mazda B2200 has a 2.2-liter engine. This vehicle has a low-pressure fuel system, with a fuel pressure in the range of 2.8 to 3.6 pounds per square inch. The replacement of the fuel pump in the 1989 Mazda B2200 requires you to remove the fuel tank.

Start the engine, and disconnect the electrical connect for the fuel pump. Wait for the engine to stall, and turn the ignition switch off.
2Disconnect the cable on the batterys negative terminal with a socket wrench to prevent sparking. Loosen the filler cap for the fuel tank. Raise the vehicle with jack, and it on jack stands. Place a gasoline container under the drain plug with a socket wrench, and remove the drain plug. Drain the fuel tank into the gasoline container.
3Disconnect all hoses from the fuel tank, and support the fuel tank with a jack. Remove the mounting nuts for the fuel tank with a socket wrench. Lower the fuel tank from the vehicle.
4Clean the area around the fuel pump to prevent debris from entering the fuel tank while you replace the fuel pump. Remove the mounting screws for the fuel pump with a socket wrench, and detach the fuel pump from the fuel tank. Discard the old gasket on the fuel tank.
5Place a new gasket into position on the fuel tank. Install the new fuel pump by performing steps 2 through 4 in reverse order. Fill the fuel tank with fuel, start the engine and check for leaks in the fuel system.

How do I Disassemble a Tail Light on a Mazda RX 8
Disassembling the taillight assembly on the rear of your Mazda RX8 will allow you to replace a damaged light or lens, or replace them with an aftermarket assembly. The taillight assembly consists of a plastic lens that bolts to the body and uses bulbs and sockets set into it from the rear. Access to the bulbs, wiring and retaining nuts is made from inside the trunk after removing the plastic trim panel that covers the rear of the assembly.

Open the trunk of your RX-8 and locate the trim panels on the inside of the trunk over the taillight assembly. Locate the plastic retainers that hold the trim in place, grasp the center of the retainer with a pair of pliers, and pull it straight out.
2Pull the plastic trim panel away from the trunk sidewalls and lay it aside. Locate the bulb sockets on the backside of the taillight assembly. Rotate them counterclockwise and remove the sockets from the taillight assembly.
3Remove the retaining nuts on the backside of the taillight assembly with a socket and ratchet. Pull the taillight assembly out of the rear of the car. Repeat the process to remove the second taillight if required.
